Logistics Analyst (Plastic Production)

DUTIES: Reviews and analyzes current supply chain management practices for plastic molding production facilities. Studies price and performance data for national and international movement of raw materials and finished products with view toward improving cost and performance efficiencies in the areas of transportation, warehousing and storage, and materials acquisition. Identifies potential new third-party logistics service providers, system improvements offering cost savings or reduced delivery times, including internal company inventory policies and practices. Recommends improvements to management. Upon approval, implements changes in supply chain policies and practices. Includes initiating contact with third-party logistics providers. Evaluates success of supply chain enhancements over time. May also identify alternative sources of raw plastic materials and initiate B2B contact with materials suppliers. Studies demand trends in worldwide plastic molding production and sales to assist management in keeping current on global industry trends. Depending on project, may communicate analytical findings and recommendations to management informally or in written or graphic demonstration formats. Works in close collaboration with production teams as well as company management.

Requirements:

1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics or closely related (Alternate education: International Business)

2. Experience: 2 years of experience in Job Offered as Logistics Analyst (Plastic production), OR, Specialist, Plastic Production as alternate occupation

MARKET RESEARCH ANALYST

DUTIES: Performs market research and product planning on behalf of very high-volume wholesaler and supplier of luggage, bags, and related products, sold under major prestige labels. Studies fashion industry literature, trade show materials, popular publications on fashion, government, and academic data, as well as internal company sales data, to develop and maintain updated knowledge of trends to contribute to product planning. Studies product-by-product cost and sales data to ascertain profitability by item.  Assembles data on available sources of paid and unpaid image-making geared toward the wholesale trade, including print, online, trade show, and others, with analysis of cost over presumed benefit of specific targeted marketing and image campaigns.  May interface with third-party providers, such as media, show organizers, and organizations. Reviews contractual relations with major retail customers for planning purposes, emphasizing price points, product profile, and historic and current volume of purchases. Based on all data, develops conclusions for current and future marketing and related product planning activities for use by management. May include, as appropriate, recommendations for pricing and supply chain improvements based on data and trends. From time to time, develops proposed marketing and image-making budgets for management review. May be delegated to supervise or engage in specific marketing and image-making activities, including liaison with major department buyers to determine their product desires and sales goals. After adoption by management of specific plan, continues in advisory role as marketing plans are implemented. 

Requirements:

1. EDUCATION: Bachelor of Business Administration or closely related.
